Definition
A succinct, clear statement, usually in the form of one sentence, that describes the meaning of the term. It should not contain additional information, explanations, or notes. These types of information should be included in the entry in their own dedicated fields.
Mandatory for everyone except translators and end users. Highly advised for everyone.

A definition should answer the question “what is it?”
A good definition specifies the essential and delimiting features of the concept, so that you can tell what it is, as well as how it differs from other related concepts. When writing a definition, start it with an anchor word that refers to the class the concept belongs to, usually a generic or superordinate word of the same part of speech (noun, verb, adjective, etc) as the term. (Ex: skirt: An article of clothing that…). Then, add delimiting characteristics (Ex: An article of clothing that hangs from the waist or hips and covers the body below the torso.)

Examples:

A font pack is a collection of fonts intended for a specific purpose (e.g., a dozen fonts for a wedding invitation or a resume, or 30 fonts with a variety of styles for someone new to CC to get them started.)
